Inspection and Testing

All electrical installations require a programme of scheduled inspection and testing. This helps to ensure that all equipment and wiring is in good safe working order, that any DIY modifications are safe and compliant, and also allows the electrician to monitor any deterioration in the electrical installation.

There are also reasons inspecting and testing outside of the schedule, for example:

• Prior to additions and modifications
• Moving into a new property
• Home Information Packs (H.I.P.s)
• Following fires, flooding or other damage
• Change of tenancy
• Insurance requirements

In any case, all new work should be properly inspected and tested prior to putting into service. The frequency of future inspections and tests are at the discretion of the designer, but the following timescales are typical:


Our company operates a policy of continuous professional development. Our electricians keep fully up to date with changes in regulations as they happen. We are qualified to City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection and Testing) and are fully experienced in inspecting and testing in-service installations. We are happy to produce proof of our qualifications upon request - don't be afraid to ask!

Unlike many of our competitors, we do not charge an extra premium for Inspection and Testing.
